JANNE WARMAN CONFIRMS NEW SOLO ALBUM ‘JAPANESE HOSPITALITY’ & ‘BEST OF’ RELEASE FOR AUGUST 24TH 2009
Featuring eight original compositions plus two cover versions (“Separate Ways”, originally recorded by US AOR-sters Journey for their 1983 album ‘Frontiers’, and “Black Cat”, the #1 US single, written and recorded by Janet Jackson), ‘Japanese Hospitality’ features the core Warmen line-up, supplemented by a host of special guests, including COB guitar star Alexi Laiho – who provides the solo on “Black Cat” - and vocalist Timo Kotipelto of Stratovarius fame.
“Separate Ways” (a top ten US single back in ’83) will be the first single from the album, available digitally from July 27th; a video to accompany this melody-conscious classic (fronted here by Pasi Rantanen of Thunderstone) is currently being discussed.
A ‘Best Of’ Warmen, a compilation album rounding up the key tracks from the first three albums, is also set for release on August 24th through Spinefarm Records UK.
The line-up for the 2009 incarnation of Warmen is as follows:-
Janne Warman (Children Of Bodom) - keyboards
Antti Warman (The Scourger) - guitars
Mirka Rantanen (Thunderstone) - drums
Jyri Helko (For The Imperium) - bass
