WITH INTEREST in the ‘Battle Metal’ scene continuing to grow, this is the perfect time for Ensiferum to be announcing the release of a new studio album – the band’s fourth since first coming together back in 1995.

Titled ‘From Afar’ and produced by Tero Kinnunen (Nightwish/Amorphis) and Janne Joutsenniemi (who has worked with the Helsinki band before), this latest outing – the follow-up to ‘Victory Songs’ (2007) – features a number of folk musicians, and has been mixed by the highly respected Hiili Hiilesmaa, whose previous clients include both Apocalyptica & HIM.

The full tracklisting of the album – for which the artwork will once again be provided by Kristian Wahlin – is as follows:-

1. By the Dividing Stream
2. From Afar
3. Twilight Tavern
4. Heathen Throne
