SLAVES TO GRAVITY DEBUT ALBUM ‘SCATTER THE CROW’ AVAILABLE VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK FROM AUGUST 10th 2009 SUPPORTED BY ‘DOLL SIZE’ DIGITAL SINGLE
AWARD-WINNING London-based rockers Slaves To Gravity will have their debut album ‘Scatter The Crow’ made available through Spinefarm Records UK from August 10th 2009.
Originally self-released on the band’s own Gravitas label in March 2008, ‘Scatter The Crow’ consists of 13 tracks written over the past two years. Featuring the singles/videos ‘Big Red’, ‘Meantime’ and ‘Mr. Regulator’ (all of which charted Top 5 in the UK Rock Chart), ‘Scatter…’ is a harmonious blend of the contemporary and the classic, drawing inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic.
“Hooks the size of Peru and a genuine sense of songwriting style.” – Kerrang!
“Every one of the 13 tracks could be a massive hit.” – Classic Rock
August 10th also sees the release of the latest single/video, ‘Doll Size’, which will be available digitally complete with two bonus tracks plus the video itself.
SLAVES TO GRAVITY formed in 2006 after the break-up of hard-rock outfit The Ga*Ga*s. Comprising of vocalist/guitarist Tommy Gleeson, bassist Toshi Ogawa and drummer Jason T, the trio were soon joined by Mark Verney of Ariel-X fame on guitar, and have since been building a loyal and ever-growing fan-base on the UK rock circuit.
Following extensive UK tours guesting with acts such as Aiden, Bullet For My Valentine, Brigade and more, as well as an appearance at the prestigious Download Festival in 2008, STG were voted both ‘Best British Newcomer’ at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards and ‘Best New Band’ at the 2008 Rock Sound Awards.
