BACKYARD BABIES 20th Anniversary Releases
In Celebration of their 20th Anniversary, Backyard Babies are set to release a unique photo book in late 2009, then follow this up with a 'Best Of' album in early 2010.
The 'Them XX' book release in December 2009 will feature a 120-page photo-book, 3 CDs plus 1 DVD. The box set comes alongside a free limited-edition hand-numbered promo single of "Abandon" featuring an exclusive remix of "Degenerated" by L'Amour La Morgue aka Ian Watkins of Lostprophets. The box set and single combination is exclusive to whatrecords.co.uk.
This release will be the definitive Backyard Babies collection. A must for any true rock fan. The release will feature
• CD 1; a compilation containing 12 tracks taken from Backyard Babies’ six original albums.
• CDs 2 & 3; these contain 38 original BYBs tracks that are currently not available.
• DVD; this contains the film 'Jetlag The Movie' (with subtitles) enhanced by a new 17-minute episode. This film has not previously been released outside of Sweden.
• The book contains exclusive photos from the band’s 20-year-long career – a career full of sex, drugs & rock‘ n’ roll.
CD1 is packed with the best-loved BYB songs – these include "Brand New Hate”, “Minus Celsius”, “Electric Suzy”, “Highlights” and 2009’s “Degenerated”.
CDs 2 & 3 feature a collection of rare and exclusive B-sides, live recordings, cover versions, mixes and previously unreleased tracks. Included are hard-to-find outings such as “Rocker” (featuring Michael Monroe), “Saved By The Bell” (piano version feat. Dizzy Reed), “Babylon” (feat Ginger and DJ Champain), live tracks such as “Say When” and “Taxi Driver”, and covers such as “Teenagers From Mars” (Misfits) and “Pet Sematary” (Ramones).
In short, a unique package from one of the great rock bands, with the 12-track compilation following as a stand-alone release in January 2010.With 20 years of hard rockin’ behind them, and NO line-up changes (!), Backyard Babies have not only developed into one of Sweden’s best loved bands, but have also stamped their mark on the greater rock‘n’roll world, with an impressive catalogue and a fearsome live reputation.
An established live draw, the band have now confirmed a series of one-off European dates. These dates will see the four playing a unique set of hits and rare tracks from their entire 20 year career. The one-off UK date will be as follows:
