Kalmah - '12 Gauge'

NEW ALBUM FROM FINNISH ‘MELODIC SWAMP ROCKERS’ SET FOR RELEASE ON MARCH 22nd VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK...

THE FOLLOW-UP to 2008’s ‘For The Revolution’ album, ‘12 Gauge’ is the sixth and latest studio outing from Finnish five-piece Kalmah.

Produced by the band themselves at Tico Tico Studios in Finland and featuring nine brand new examples of ‘melodic swamp metal’, ‘12 Gauge’ – set for a March 22nd release via Spinefarm Records UK – sees the band from the swamplands of Oulu delivering a truly thunderous set of recordings, with the title track currently being turned into a promo clip.

Says prime songwriter & lead guitarist Antti Kokko: "Swamp spirit among the band is high and everyone is very satisfied with the results. Under the guidance of our dear ‘Swamplord’, the new songs are very Kalmah-like, but we haven’t forgotten to introduce some new elements here and there…"

Now celebrating their 10th year as a recording outfit, 2010 will see Kalmah heading back out on the road; already the five have played live shows in Russia, and dates are now being booked for Germany, Slovenia and of course Finland. There’s also talk of a second trip to Canada – a country the group visited for the first time in 2008.
