Upcoming Spinefarm Releases!
With a whole feast of releases to gear you up for the colder months, we thought it'd be better to list these so you can ensure you don't miss out!
November 10th
The Puritan - Clocking in at over an hour, this debut CD brings together the Finnish outfit's two previous LPs - 'The Puritan' & 'The Black Law' - both of which are now sold out. Simply, 'Lithium Gates' is an oppressive take on mankind & the death of modern culture - heavy in atomsphere, weighty in music, and never afraid to push back boundaries. A harsh message to mankind!
November 17th
Finntroll Catalogue - 2008 re-issue of the first four albums from this legendary Finnish troupe. All titles come with revised artwork - essential releases that effectively defined a genre. The titles in question are; 'Midnattens Widunder', 'Nattfodd' and 'Ur Jordens Djup'. Finntroll will be recording a live DVD in October.
November 24th
Sadly, the Reverend Bizarre are no more, but the last ever release is a very limited edition 12-inch single - 'The Goddess Of Doom' (a tribute to actress Christina Ricci) and 'Dunkelheit'. This highly prized collectible will be available from www.whatrecords.co.uk.
December 1st
Tarja EP - Available as a limited edition digipack, this fan-friendly EP - titled 'The Seer' - features a whole host of treats, including a duet with Doro Pesch, plus live and remixed material. Watch out for a new Tarja album in '09.
Children Of Bodom - Third single from the Blooddrunk album, featuring 'Smile Pretty For The Devil' as lead track, along with a cover of Poison's 'Talk Dirty To Me' plus the 'Smile Pretty...' video itself. This very limited edition release will only be available at two instore appearances in December, when the band will be on tour with Slipknot.
January 19th '09
Reverend Bizarre Anthology - Titled 'Death Is Glory...Now!', this 13 track 2-CD set features material only previously available on 7-inch, 12-inch and split singles. With CD 2 mainly comprising of cover versions, with Judas Priest's 'Deceiver' being particularly effective, this swansong release is without doubt the most varied RB release to date! The world of Doom will never be the same now that Albert Witchfinder and co have hung up their cloaks of darkness, although we do of course have The Puritan to keep us ... miserable.
