New 'Degenerated' single/video and co-headline tour with The Rasmus!

FOLLOWING THE acclaimed release of their 6th studio album, ‘Backyard Babies’, in late 2008, the Swedish quartet are now set to issue a new single supported by a UK tour in April 2009, co-headlining with Finnish outfit The Rasmus.

With 20 years of hard rockin’ behind them, Backyard Babies have not only developed into one of Sweden’s best loved bands, but have stamped their mark on the world, with an impressive catalogue and a fearsome live reputation.

New single “Degenerated” will be released as a limited edition coloured vinyl 7” and also as a download, with a brand new Remix on the 7” B-side. The A-side, meanwhile, is classic Backyard Babies – an instantly memorable chorus backed by tight and heavy guitars. “Who’s The Man? / Who’s The Guy? / Who’s The Creep You’ve Been Dreaming Of? / Degenerated!”

The single will also be represented by an animated video tied to the band’s involvement with the Guitar Hero video game. The video features 3d animation with the band in motion capture and took 6 weeks to complete. Check it out right here - BACKYARD BABIES 'DEGENERATED'!

The “Backyard Babies” album was recorded during 90 days and nights in Polar and Big Island Sound studios in Stockholm with producer Jacob Hellner (Rammstein,). From lead single, the sleazed-out, scuzzed up rock of “Drool”, right through to “Degenerated” itself, the record is packed with taut rhythms overlaid with driving guitars and the unique vocal take of Nicke Borg.

Lead guitarist Dregen states: “This record feels most like Backyard Babies. It was about time we finally made an album that has all the ingredients a classic rock album should have!”

Following a UK tour in September 2008, the band are now set to tour Europe through February, March and April 2009. These dates will include UK shows in April, co-headlining with The Rasmus. These are as follows
